About

Abby Reckinger

Mental Performance Coach

Abby is a former educator who has always been involved in sport. She grew up participating in several sports such as volleyball, track, and swimming. As an adult, Abby has dabbled in triathlons and has run several marathons and half marathons. She is a former Division I athlete, has experience as a coach, and is now a mom of 3 children, two of whom are athletes. She brings these multiple perspectives to her work with athletes, coaches, and parents. As a member of the Association for Applied Sport Psychology, Abby is working toward obtaining her Certified Mental Performance Consultant (CMPC) certificate.

Abby combines her knowledge of teaching and mental skills to meet clients wherever they are by educating athletes and coaches on mental performance skills and allowing them the opportunity to practice these skills. It is important to train our brain, just like we do our bodies. Abby sets up her sessions with a focus on building a trusting relationship with all of her clients. It is important that all mental performance sessions are centered on the athlete's needs and interests. In addition to improved performance, Abby’s ultimate goals for athletes are seeing themselves as more than just an athlete and being able to transfer the mental skills they learn in sport to life.
